Description
Slag runner and granulation system are essential process equipment in blast furnace slag treatment systems. However, they operate under extremely harsh conditions with multiple failure mechanisms:
- Acidic solution corrosion
- High-speed water flow carrying abrasive particulate matter
- Potential explosions caused by incomplete iron-slag separation
- Frequent thermal shock cycles
Under these combined destructive mechanisms, conventional wear-resistant lining materials typically last only 1-2 years, far below user requirements. To address this, we have developed a specialized ceramic reinforced wear-resistant castable specifically engineered for slag runner and granulation system.
Key Features
- High strength and exceptional wear resistance
- Superior erosion/abrasion resistance
- Excellent acid and alkali corrosion resistance
- Outstanding thermal shock resistance
- Organic binder-free formulation for better aging resistance and environmental safety
- Suitable for slag trough linings, granulation tower wear layers in blast furnaces, EAFs, and submerged arc furnaces
- Can also be applied in various hopper environments
Application Methods
- Precast Components – Ideal for tight schedules or existing trough renovations. Our prefabricated ceramic wear-resistant trough segments enable fast on-site installation.
- Cast-in-place Pumping – Recommended for new construction projects, providing superior integrity.
- Wet Spray Application – For large-area applications like hoppers, offering 90% of cast-in-place wear resistance with higher efficiency.
- Trowel Application – For localized repairs and special applications.
Technical Advantages
- Wear-resistant linings for slag runner and granulation system in blast furnaces of all sizes
- Wear-resistant layers for submerged arc furnaces and EAFs
- Protective linings for various material hoppers and storage yards
- Suitable for both complete system installation and localized repairs
